Hello Friends of Juan Sanmiguel,
The Celebration for Juan Sanmiguel will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Holy Name Church. The church is located at 1920 Marion St, Houston, 77009. The celebration will start at 2PM with a Mass by our cousin, Bishop Oscar Cantú from the Diocese of Las Cruces. The program for the celebration of his life will start at 3PM in the auditorium at the church. We feel this arrangement will allow those that only want to attend the Celebration to do so. I am asking that you please get the word out to other folks that knew Juan.
A few people will be sharing stories on stage as part of the program – if any of you feel you want to do so, let me know and we will work to incorporate it into the program schedule.
In order to get a feeling for the number of attendees, I am asking that folks RSVP with names of those attending to email SANMIGUEL_JDHS_MARSHALLMS@MCCR.COM. We are also asking folks RSVPing to feel free to include a little story/memory/tidbit about Juan that they may recall as, if we get a few of these, we plan in include them in the keepsake program. Lastly, for any former students attending, it would be great for them to include the year they graduated (if at Jeff Davis) or the year the graduated into high school (if at Marshall MS).

I am writing to ask for your help! Davis HS is working to Power Up our campus which would allow each of our students the opportunity to have a lap top. To make this possible, each student is required to pay a $25.00 fee, but at a campus that is over 97% economically disadvantaged, this has proved a major hurdle we are struggling to overcome.
It is here where I am writing to ask for your help, I am writing to ask for your support by sponsoring Davis students to be able to cover this fee. Can I count on you? I have attached a letter that I ask you share with your fellow alumni or others you associate with to see if there are any donors who may want to help us make this a reality at Davis. Don’t hesitate to share this letter with anyone you think could help. You have worked first hand with our kids and know the problems they face; this would be a huge asset to their lives and honestly $25 can impact not only the child, but their entire family as they learn together!
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Our deadline is this Friday and I apologize for the short window, but we never anticipated having over 200 students unable to complete their payments.

The Jeff Davis HS Band would like to invite each and every one of you to our 2nd annual spaghetti dinner. The event will take place in the commons from 5-9pm. We will feature our newly established 2nd jazz ensemble, jazz ensemble #1, drum line and marching band. Aside from the awesome musical performances, we will have items for sell, a silent auction and delicious food! Also, “padres panteras” will be hosting a community health fair inside the cafeteria.
If you would like to purchase a door prize ticket (donation $2.00) for your chance to win an ipad (Do not need to be present to win) or a dinner ticket, please contact me.
